Let us help you regain your confidence and independence Did you know? The scientific research clearly shows that physiotherapy should be the first line of treatment for incontinence. Georgetown Location open Saturdays 8am - 2 pm Many people believe that incontinence; the involuntary loss of urine, is a normal occurrence after childbirth or aging. Continence concerns are common but NOT normal. Stress Incontinence (SI) refers to leakage that is noticed during a cough or sneeze, when laughing, or during strenuous activities like soccer, jumping jacks, or other aerobic activities. Sometimes women get the sudden and urgent need to get to a bathroom. Urge Incontinence (UI) is the loss of urine that is accompanied by this sudden, urgent feeling. Leakage may have started off with minimal and tolerable amounts of leakage that occurred with a cough or sneeze, but then leakage can accelerate to amounts that are substantial enough to wear protective padding, continence garments or simply just avoiding activities that were once enjoyed. A long-awaited website designed to bolster tourism and celebrate the local community has been launched. The site, www.VisitHaltonHills.ca, was cre- ated by the Town in partnership with the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce. It incorporates the community brand and invites visitors to "find their smile" in Halton Hills. It also highlights the plethora of places to visit in the area, from local farms, farmers' markets and restaurants to the Cultural Centre, Williams Mill, cycling routes and more. "VisitHaltonHills.ca illustrates all of the won- derful tourism assets in the community," said Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette. "I invite ev- eryone to visit Halton Hills and 'find your smile.'" The website was lauded by others as well at Monday night's council meeting. "We've been waiting for this for a long time. You did a bang up job," said Wards 3 & 4 Region- al Councillor Jane Fogal. All tourism-related events will be posted to the site's calendar of events and non-profit groups are invited to submit their events for in- clusion.
