TheTrusted Team of the GTA & Surrounding Areas NEWS Couple arrested after struggle with police A Georgetown man wanted for failing to attend court was arrested along with his common-law wife following a scuffle with Halton Regional Police Friday morning in Georgetown. Officers on patrol in the area of Guelph St. and Maple Ave. spotted a man wanted on bench warrants for drug and other crimi- nal offences. The officers attempted to arrest the sus- pect and a struggle ensued, with the man's common-law wife allegedly becoming in- volved. None of the officers were injured. Charged with assault with intent to re- sist is Steven Collins, 35. He was held for a bail hearing that was expected to take place Friday. Melissa Poff, 36, also of Georgetown, is charged with obstructing a peace officer and was released on an appearance no- tice.
