The theme this year is Pigs: Go Hog Wild at the Acton Fair. Entertainment at the Fair is: • Friday, Sept. 18: 7 p.m. at the Spot in the Park, Practically Hip-- the music of Tragically Hip featuring local Acton resident Dean Hughes • Saturday, Sept. 19: 1:30 p.m. in the Dufferin building on the main stage, local band Chase N'Diesel, and at 8 p.m. crooner Monty Greig. From 2-5 p.m. at the Spot in the Park, the Itchy Scratchy band plays. • Sunday, Sept. 20: 1 p.m. on the Dufferin Building's main stage, Johnny Scat performs, featuring the music of Elvis and Tim McGraw Gates open to the public on Friday at 4 p.m. and special events that night include the Heavy Horse Pull at 7 p.m. and the Miss Acton Fall Fair Pageant at 8 p.m. On Saturday, the gates open at 8 a.m. with the midway opening at 11 a.m. On the Satur- day schedule is the poultry show, beef cat- tle show, baby show, heavy horse show, 12 noon parade through Acton to the Fair- grounds, light horse show, and lawn and garden tractor pull. On Sunday, events include the dairy show, chicken show, highway truck pull, dog/horse barrel race show, antique tractor pull, miniature horse show, 4H goat show, pet show, 4x4 truck pull and the pedal tractor pull. Admission prices are adults, $9; youths (13-17) and seniors, $8; children (ages 5-12), $4; children under 5, free. A 3 Day Pass-$20 advance sales only.
