Staff arrived on scene to a large industrial building with black smoke showing from the roof area, with a strong smell of burning, and alarm bells sounding. Fire staff completed a 360 of the building and noticed smoke com- ing from the building with a strong smell of burning rubber and blackened windows along the upper wall. Crews entered the building and found high heat and a small fire burning under a machine oven. Crews extinguished the fire and shut down the gas supply to the oven. Cause of the fire was determined to be ex- cess product in the oven, resulting in a high heat build-up. NEIGHBOUR PUTS OUT FIRE Firefighters responded to a burn com- plaint on Gray Gate, at 10:56 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11. On scene staff found a smouldering fire, with the neighbour who called putting water on it. The homeowner did have a valid burn permit. Firefighters respond to structure fire on Armstrong Ave.
