Youth are asked to submit original songs that highlight a cause addressed by the United Way of Halton Hills' funding priorities (check www.unitedwayhaltonhills. ca for info on funding priori- ties). These songs can focus on mental health, poverty, hunger, people with dis- abilities, etc. Contestants must note the following: • Composition, both lyr- ics and music must be origi- nal (must not use third party or copyrighted material); • Songs must reflect a cause being addressed by United Way; • Groups of up to four people allowed; • No swearing; • No nudity/sexual content; • No explicit or graphic violence, weapons or branding; • Contestants must be 25 or under and re- side in Halton Hills; • Videos must be submitted via Youtube to United Way of Halton Hills (unitedwayhh@ bellnet.ca) by Oct. 9; • Online voting (through UW Halton Hills' facebook page) will take place during the week of Oct. 12. Three finalists will be declared based on the highest number of 'likes' for the videos. Finalists must be available to per- form 'live' on the evening of Friday, Oct. 23 at the John Elliott Theatre in Georgetown (and rehearse on evening of Oct. 22). Tickets for the Live Fi- nal Event of Eudaimonia will go on sale Oct. 1 at the John Elliott Theatre Box Office (no charge for per- formers). Tickets are $20 adults, $10, young adults 25 and under. Tickets also available at the door. A panel of judges will critique the perfor- mances and declare the winners of first, sec- ond and third place. Prizes will be presented to the winner. Priz- es awarded must be shared if winner consists United Way wants to groove to new tunes from youth of more than one person. As a condition of entry of a video, the com- poser/singers agree that the United Way of Halton Hills can use the composition in any promotional activities undertaken by the Unit- ed Way of Halton Hills.
