Submitted photo Daycare closes with no refunds, notice The sudden closure of a local daycare has par- ents confused and demanding answers. Nicole Donaldson has been sending her three-year-old daughter, Faith, to Tiny Town Daycare on Mountainview Rd. since this Janu- ary. Donaldson, who is a stay-at-home mom and volunteers once a week at the Halton Women's Shelter, wanted to expose Faith to so- cial situations to develop her social skills and saw the daycare as the perfect opportunity. Each month, Donaldson pays approximate- ly $360 for Faith to attend Tiny Town on Tues- days and Fridays. On Sept. 28, while picking Faith up, Donaldson was informed the location was closing and to drop her daughter off at the other location on Guelph St. At first, Donaldson thought it was a little strange, but complied. "There was no notice and they were telling parents this at the end of the day when they were picking up their children," she said. "To me, that seemed really off." Nearing the end of September, Donaldson was asked by daycare staff to pay October's fee, which she had already done. On Oct. 8, the third day Faith would attend the new location, Donaldson drove into the parking lot to find the building empty. "The signs were all taken off the building, the doors were locked, the lights were off, no one was in the parking lot," she said. "They shut it down with no notice."
