Pg. 36 Halton Police leads joint raid on meth drug lab operation A month-long Halton Police investi- gation has led to the dismantling of a drug lab and the arrest of four people after a raid with two other police ser- vices last Thursday. Halton Police, Peel Police and the OPP raided three homes in Bramp- ton, Toronto and Vaughan, seizing about five kilograms of crystal meth- amphetamine from the Brampton home. Peel Police Const. Rachel Gibbs of Peel Police said some 10 homes near 22 Midsummer Dr. near McVean Dr. and Queen St. had to be evacuated for about an hour at 5 p.m. following the discovery of a meth lab. According to Halton Police, the in- vestigation began, on Sept. 29, when the Halton Police Drug, Gun and Gang Unit responded to a discarded methamphetamine lab at the road- side on Sixth Line in Halton Hills. Through investigation, police identified Phuong Dang as a suspect responsible for the methamphet- amine lab. Police conducted surveillance on Dang and observed him at a resi- dence on Midsummer Dr. in Bramp- ton. Based on Dang's behaviour po- lice formed the belief that Dang was Georgetown District High School student Hailey Robinson had her head shaved and donated her hair for wigs to raise money for Addison's Wish Foundation, named after seven-year-old Addison Rolke of Georgetown who passed away in June after a short battle with cancer. Hailey, Addison's babysitter, wanted to do something to honour Addison's memories and organized this event, raising more than $4,000. Above, finally through it, Hailey is overcome with emotions.
