Terry was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up loving sports year-round. He played hockey throughout his life and was a member of the University of Manitoba Bison's hockey team. He loved running to stay active and completed three marathons. He enjoyed spending time on the golf course in the summer months. After moving to Toronto in 1979 and eventually settling in Georgetown, Ontario, Terry kept close ties to Winnipeg, returning each summer to visit friends and vacation at the family cottage. He was a dedicated family man who loved nothing more than spending time with his two sons. The years spent with the Georgetown hockey community were his most cherished. He loved holidays and family traditions, and was sentimental to the core. Terry graduated from the University of Manitoba in economics. He made his life-long career in finance and worked with TD Wealth Management as an investment advisor, a job he loved, until the time of his passing. Predeceased by his beloved parents Douglas and Irene Bannerman, he leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years Dianne and his beloved and devoted sons Geoffrey Douglas and Todd Mark. He is survived by his brother Jamie Bannerman (Sue) and family, his sister Sheila Bannerman (Jamie Grant) and family, and in-laws Carol Mosionier (Wayne) and David Westmacott (Rhonda) and family. Terry's extended family continue to reside in Western Canada and despite the distance, they have remained a close loving and supportive family. Our family would like to express our gratitude to the doctors and staff at Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre, Trillium Health Partners, Paramed HHC, and Georgetown Hospital. Our journey was a difficult one made easier by the caring doctors and health care professionals who helped us along the way. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. Services to honour Terry's life will take place at J.S. Jones and Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Avenue, Georgetown, 905-877-3631, with visitation Monday, January 4th from 7pm-9pm and funeral services in the chapel on Tuesday, January 5th, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
