Kyle Venne of Kaven Construc- tion and Renovations donated his oversight as a general contractor as well as his time and labour to de- sign and build a solid and attractive shelter inside the off-leash area of both Cedarvale and Prospect dog parks. Also instrumental in its con- struction, was the expertise of Kev- in Vieyra, HHDOG project coordi- nator, and Scott Barclay, president of HHDOG, who brought their ex- perience and skills to the project. Many thanks are due to Rona Home & Garden Centre and Leath- ertown Lumber, a Castle Building Centre, for supplying quite a signif- icant amount of free or discounted roofing materials and services towards the project. Last but not least, the group thanks the mem- bers of HHDOG, who contribute monetarily for using the parks. Their membership fees and dona- tions supply funds for capital proj- ects and improvements. "It makes a big difference to be able to get out everyday in all kinds of weather, both for the pups and their dedicated owners," stated An- drea Clement, HHDOG member- ship coordinator. With adequate lighting recently upgraded, thanks to the Town, and now with good shelters, better use the off-leash areas (open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.) can be used pretty much every day of the year. Two dog shelters, one in Georgetown and one in Acton, were constructed to keep dog walkers covered in all types of weather.
