A Brampton man was charged with theft after a security firm reported to Halton Regional Police early Saturday morning that an individual was attempt- ing to break into vehicles in a new housing development on Georgetown's east side. Officers responded to Upper Canada Ct. just before 2 a.m. on Jan. 2, where they spotted a man allegedly attempting to enter a vehicle. The suspect was arrest- ed and a subsequent search turned up a Garmin GPS unit as well as several gift cards. Charged with theft under $5,000 is Kirk Mitchell, 37, of Brampton. FUEL SPILL: Trafalgar Rd. be- tween 10 & 15 Sideroad was closed due to an accident last Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 30) involving three vehicles, including a tanker truck that rolled over.
