Companies from across Halton Hills and players from the Georgetown Raid- ers have signed on to join the Mayor an afternoon of bowling, prizes, and more. Many people know that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton matches volunteers with local children in one-to-one men- toring relationships, a bond that can make a life-long impact on the life of a child. However, BBBSH offers other mentor- ing programs in the community. Sixty elementary school children benefit from attending the Homework Club after- school mentoring program for kids. The Homework Club is currently operating in four area schools in Halton Hills, two in Georgetown and two in Acton.  Numerous schools also have in-school mentoring matches, where a child at the school is matched with an adult role model. Proceeds from the Mayor Bonnette Bowl for Kids' Sake event will stay within the Halton Hills boundaries and go di- rectly to the mentoring programs for the children within the local community. Last year $12,186 raised for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization. To register your team, please call (905) 339-2355 ext. 222 or register online at www.bbbshalton.ca/ and follow the Bowl for Kids' Sake link.
