Our landlord has made ar- rangements to have the roof re- paired. This will be a four- to six- week project and will seriously affect getting around the Centre and parking. You have probably already experienced this. We are suggesting that you consider car- pooling or use the Activan or taxi. Once more we ask for your pa- tience. If you have any questions or concerns please share them with Terri. Let's put the HAPPY back into Happy Valentine's Day by drop- ping into the Centre and sharing in a piece of strawberry shortcake being served up by Heart to Home Meals on Friday, Feb. 12. No cost to you. This is a change in plans from last week's column. Then stay around for the movie Valentine's Day. Sherry tells me it is a roman- tic story and love is something we can always use. Our Craft Ladies are still busy knitting and crocheting on Tues- day and Friday mornings. Their items for sale are found in the glass cases along the wall in the foyer. Just open the doors and have a look. All proceeds from their sales come back to your Centre. If you are interested in joining them they will be happy to have you. Bring along your own craft. They are coming back! The stu- dents from St. Roch's Secondary School will be back on Thursday, Feb. 18 for some fun and to serve lunch. They arrive around 10 a.m. and enjoy mixing with you in any activity that is going on. Prepara- tions are made for only 40 lunches so best you get your ticket early. People have been dropping in to get their copy of the new Hillsview. I would particularly draw your attention to page 12. It contains a great deal of informa- tion about procedures for the up- coming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, April 7, 1 p.m. It pays to be knowledgeable about how the meeting is conducted and why it important to the operation of your Centre. Come on out on Thursday af- ternoon for 1 p.m. and join the shuffleboard players. By the sound of things they have a great time. If you are not part of this group you are missing out on a lot of fun. Hope to see you at the Centre! Roof repairs to begin at Georgetown's HALC By Florence Riehl Hillsview Active Living Centre Georgetown SENIORS LIVING The latest copy of Hillsview is at the reception desk. Don't forget to pick up your copy. Then you will discover all the exciting and new programs offered at the Centre plus the old favourites! The final dinner for the Out- reach Program was on Monday, Jan. 25. It had a Caribbean theme and some people dug in their closets for their Hawaiian shirts. The dinner was excellent. Chick- en and pineapple rice, plus salad and a delicious light sponge cake. Did you know that our line danc- ers can line dance to absolutely everything? Most of the music had a Caribbean beat and they danced all evening. Marlene Beitz has done a wonderful job through her Outreach program introduc- ing new people to the Centre. I hope they enjoyed what they discovered here and we will see them again soon. The Men's breakfast was well attended and the next one will be on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 9:30 a.m. On Wednesday, Jan. 27, Dave Gordon visited the art class shar- ing his experience and critiquing the member's watercolours.
