Come see (from left), Robbie Wood, Pam Cooper, Dave Krock and Sam Hancock at Impr- ovariety Show #2 on Saturday, March 19, 8 p.m. at the GLT Studio, 33 Stewarttown Rd. Photo by Michael Halsall Did you hear about the laughs you can have locally? Laughs the whole family can enjoy? That's right, comedy right here in your own backyard. Not your actual backyard, but in- side in case it rains. GLIC's Improvariety #2 is a night of com- edy, music and magic on March 19 at 8 p.m. at 33 Stewarttown Rd. in Stewarttown. The cost is one item per person for the local food bank. Unless you want to tip us for being so funny. We'll take tips. Improvariety #1 was a rousing success. We planned for a handful of improv devotees and nearly sold out the house. We had to add an extra row, and the studio was reverberating with laughter for days. Thanks to your gener- osity, we raised nearly $250 for the GLT Studio roof fund and collected four overflowing bags of food for the local food bank. To quote one fan "I really liked that guy with the guitar." Okay, so maybe that was the guitar guy's fan. Improvariety #2: The March 19th edition will have more of that madcap GLIC comedy you love, more comics, more music and a wee bit of magic. Be amazed, be amused, but don't forget to be there! March 19, 8 p.m., 33 Stew- arttown Rd. Rinse, repeat. Did you know that Georgetown Little Im- prov Club has been around for nearly nine years, and making people laugh for 11? Every summer since the first one, GLIC meets every Wednesday night from May to August, putting on an end-of-summer show that is always a must-see affair. Only Georgetown Little The- atre members can join GLIC. And guess what? You can easily be a GLT member for $25 (or $40/family). Membership has its privileges. Check out www.georgetownlittletheatre.ca for more info on GLT activities. Anyone can improvise, all you need to do is try. Our workshops are open to all levels of im- provisers from first-timers to seasoned pros (19 years or older), all in a safe and supportive environment. Learn the basics or brush up on your foundation skills, but mainly come for the laughs. Do something outside your com- fort zone. Need something fun to do with the spouse? Why not improv? Looking to improve your public speaking skills? You could do worse than come out to improv. It's the social group of the year! (I just decided that and no one can't prove it isn't. Unless you come out!) First meeting and info night is on May 11 at 7:30 p.m. at 33 Stewarttown Rd. By Sam Hancock Georgetown Little Improv Club Night of comedy returns Saturday
