The 12th-annual event takes place Thurs- day, March 31 at the Burlington Convention Centre and will be hosted by the Halton Indus- try Education Council (HIEC), a not-for-profit organization that aims to enhance career edu- cation and inspire youths to make informed career decisions. The event is scheduled to run from 5:15-9 p.m. Comedian, actor and author Jessica Holmes will deliver the keynote address for the second year in a row to share her personal struggles balancing career, family and wellness. It has grown over the years to host more than 700 women and their mentors and is a place that offers young women in the com- munity a forum for support, encouragement and inspiration as they begin to imagine their career path. Holmes, who is best known for her role on Royal Canadian Air Farce, will be highlight- ing the shared struggles of working women at the event. A Second City veteran, she has also published an autobiography I Love your Laugh: Finding the Light in my Screwball Life, which documents the personal and profes- sional challenges she has faced and how she has worked to overcome them.
