On Friday, March 11, offi- cers flew to British Columbia and took custody of 35-year- old Burlington male, who was wanted in Halton Region for drug offences. After being re- leased from custody he fled to B.C., and a Canada-wide war- rant was issued for his arrest. On Tuesday, March 15, of- ficers flew to Newfoundland to take custody of 33-year-old Halton Hills male, who was wanted for offences relating to an alleged domestic as- sault. Halton Regional Police Ser- vice in a press release stated it works closely with the Hal- ton Crown Attorney's Office to identify serious cases that deserve this response. Each case is thoroughly reviewed, if determined to possess a seri- ous risk to the victim or pub- lic safety or the gravity of the offence is so great, a Canada- wide warrant may be issued allowing officer to arrest and return offender from different provinces.
