The George- town resident was greeted as the one millionth visitor to a conservation area in the region by Conservation Hal- ton's director of parks and recreation, Gene Matthews, on Dec. 22. It's the first time in Con- servation Halton's history that it has reached the mile- stone of one million total visits in a calendar year to its facilities, which include Crawford Lake, Hilton Falls, Kelso/Glen Eden, Mount Nemo, Mountsberg, Rattlesnake Point and Rob- ert Edmondson. To celebrate the mile- stone, Leslie received a package that included a Glen Eden season pass for 2018-19, a one-year Halton Parks membership, mer- chandise and maple syrup from Mountsberg. "It's fantastic to be able to celebrate a milestone like one million visits and we would like to thank every- one who came to enjoy our beautiful conservation ar- eas," said Conservation Hal- ton chief administrative of- ficer Hassaan Basit. Visita- tion at Conservation Hal- ton's facilities has grown steadily over the past few years. In 2013, visits went over the 800,000 level, and last year, they almost reached one million. During that period, the number of visits to Hilton Falls, Mount Nemo and Rattlesnake Point has more than dou- bled, as people are enjoying the scenic views from those parks - which are each along the iconic Niagara Escarp- ment - and other activities like hiking, mountain bik- ing and rock climbing. Let us help you regain your confidence and independence Did you know? The scientific research clearly shows that physiotherapy should be the first line of treatment for incontinence. Many people believe that incontinence; the involuntary loss of urine, is a normal occurrence after childbirth or aging. Continence concerns are common but NOT normal. Stress Incontinence (SI) refers to leakage that is noticed during a cough or sneeze, when laughing, or during strenuous activities like soccer, jumping jacks, or other aerobic activities. Sometimes women get the sudden and urgent need to get to a bathroom. Urge Incontinence (UI) is the loss of urine that is accompanied by this sudden, urgent feeling. Leakage may have started off with minimal and tolerable amounts of leakage that occurred with a cough or sneeze, but then leakage can accelerate to amounts that are substantial enough to wear protective padding, continence garments or simply just avoiding activities that were once enjoyed.
