Dr. Rama Khanna, who would have turned 70 on Jan. 26, has treated patients at the South Georgetown Medical Clinic for the past 15 years and at the King Cove Clinic over the last couple of years, after a long, frustrating battle to be- come a doctor in Ontario. As her son Sameet noted, she was tending to patient mat- ters last Tuesday Jan. 2, right up until her final waking mo- ments - authorizing medical documents for insurance pur- poses on a laptop computer in her home office - before family members found her uncon- scious in a bathroom, having suffered a brain hemorrhage. Transplant surgeons were able to save her lungs and pass them on to a 29-year-old wom- an, the family said, before Dr. Dr. Rama Khanna remembered for putting patients first l See KHANNA, page 3 Family members, friends and patients of Dr. Rama Khanna are grieving the popular Georgetown family doctor following her sudden passing last week due to a brain hemorrhage at the age of 69. She worked out of both the South Georgetown Medical Clinic and the King Cove Clinic.
