PETS NHKR: Nibblette a friendly companion NHKR: Hutch has overcome incredible odds Nibblette was a young stray cat with limited people experience when she was taken in by NHKR. Although she is esti- mated to be ten months old, her affection- ate personality and gentle demeanour have allowed her to trust people to be- come a friendly companion and a con- firmed house cat. Nibblette has retained some of her mother's teaching and will run if ap- proached too quickly but she is steadily overcoming this. When strangers visit she will dis- appear - once she is confi- dent no harm is intended, she will return for atten- tion. She rolls around soak- ing up cheek and tummy rubs and when Nibblette is very happy she will ever so gently nibble on hands. Nibblette will accept be- ing picked up and is making good progress practicing to become a lap cat. She es- pecially enjoys having her neck scratched and long strokes down her back. She is clean with her lit- ter box and uses the scratch- ing posts provided. Nib- blette is an agreeable girl so there are no problems trimming her nails or brushing her. Nibblette is social and playful with other cats although she does not groom or sleep with them. She could be content as an only cat with people that under- stand she is still gaining confidence or she could become a playmate/companion for another cat of any age. Nibblette will be available for adoption this Sat. at Pet Valu, 375 Mountainview Rd South from 2:00-4:00. Do you want an amazing little girl who has overcome incredible odds to become a wonderful young cat? Baby Hutch ar- rived at NHKR after a man noticed her jump out from underneath his truck hood after a three hour car trip on the high- way! How she survived is anyone's guess. She was malnourished and unwell. She hissed when anyone came close, cat or human. She was so very scared. She was afraid of hands coming close to her face, and would flinch. Baby Hutch is now out and about the house with other adult cats. She follows her foster Mom around the house, and snuggles in the bed purring madly when it is bedtime. She loves to be petted along her back and around her face and chin and ears. She likes to come to you and will still leave if you try to go to her. She loves to be talked to and seems to think that her foster's ideas are all brilliant. She is very food oriented, and loves her little bit of wet food in the morning. She loves batting at you with her very soft paws, and loves to have them stroked. She plays well on her own or with her foster Mom. She has a best friend cat that she plays with, and she ignores other cats. Baby Hutch has come a long way, and with patience will go much farther as she learns to trust. She would suit a quiet home, and she will flourish. She would be fine with a male cat to play with and to help build her confidence in the home, or as an only cat if her family is close by. Nibblette and Hutch will be available for adoption this Sat. at Pet Valu, 375 Mountainview Rd South from 2:00-4:00. The $160.cash adoption fee includes: vac- cinations , parasite treatments, spaying, microchip and a bag of food.
