To report a sighting, email Karen Mice- li at kmiceli@metroland.com. Provide the date of the sighting, as well as the location and a description of what occurred. Here's a rundown of recent coyote sightings, as described by residents. COYOTE TAKES SMALL DOG "I live on Trillium Terrace in Acton and we are close to a golf course and back onto a bush. Last night (Jan. 26) I let my small dog out onto our back deck to do his business and he was taken into the woods by a coyote. My heart is broken." COYOTES TRAVEL DOWN ROAD Feb. 10, 10:20 p.m. "I was out shoveling our driveway when two coyotes entered DeQuincy Crescent from Mountainside Drive. They were walking quickly down the middle of the snow-laden road, travel- ling west on the part of Dequincy border- ing Roly Bird Park. One was walking 20 feet behind the other one. They looked very healthy and I don't think they no- ticed me standing about 50 feet away." COYOTE RUNS INTO PARK Feb. 9, 5:40 p.m. Parkway Drive in Bur- lington. "The coyote stopped on the snow bank to relieve itself, then ran off into Mountainside Park. PAIR SEEN AGAIN "A pair of coyotes walked up the south side of Glenforest Crescent from Pine- hurst Drive in Oakville this morning (Feb. 6) at 8:30. Both look quite healthy but one, the female I think, appears to have a bit of a limp. We have seen this pair quite often in the south-east area of Oakville." COYOTE WITH TRACKING COLLAR Feb. 6. Woodhaven Park in Oakville. Two coyotes, one with what looked like a tracking collar; the other very mangy and thin.
