The concert will feature Gregorio Allegri's "Misere- re," as well as compositions by Anton Bruckner, Anto- nio Lotti and J.S. Bach. Artistic director Ronald Greidanus says while most of their concerts are backed up by either a baroque or- chestra or piano, this partic- ular one offers a different approach. "One of the things that makes this concert special is that it's mainly an a cappella concert so all you basically hear in the concert is the choir singing," Greidanus said. He notes that he chose the Miserere composition because he believes it high- lights the sublimity and the transparency of the voices and the choral sound itself. "It has approximately 10 high C's sung by the soprano throughout the work, which is a pretty hard feat because most people can't sing high C's," he added. "It's amazing because suddenly out of this beautiful somber texture comes these beautiful high notes." The concert begins at 2:30 p.m. on March 4. Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for stu- dents.
