The MCEA Study will consider a wide range of road improvement alternatives as well as intersection improvements, active transportation and overall traffic operations. The impact of road improvements on social, cultural, economic and natural environments will also be evaluated and assessed during the study. Process The study is being conducted in compliance with Schedule C of theMunicipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, amended 2007, 2011 and 2015), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. A key component of the study will be consultation with interested stakeholders (public and regulatory agencies) through Public Information Centres (PIC). The first Public Information Centre has been arranged for: Date: Thursday, March 8, 2018. Time: Drop-in between 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Location: Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf 7801 5 Side Road, Milton ON L9T 2X7 The purpose of the PIC is to review and obtain public input on the problem being addressed, background information and the planning alternatives being considered. Anyone with an interest in this study is invited to attend and participate. Comments If you are unable to attend the Public Information Centre and would like to provide comments, please forward them by Friday, March 23, 2018 to either Project Teammember. Volunteer applications are being accepted online from Thursday, March 1 to Friday, March 16 at 11:59 p.m. "We are looking for people who can help advance the Bur- lington Fire Department's com- mitment to public safety and are interested in a challenging op- portunity to serve Burlington as a volunteer firefighter," said Deputy Fire Chief Karen Roche. "Being a volunteer firefighter is no ordinary job; the work is varied and challenging, but also highly rewarding." The local fire department consists of professional and vol- unteer firefighters. New re- cruits will be assigned to fire headquarters at station no. 1, 1255 Fairview St., or Fire station no. 5, 2241 Kilbride St., based on where the applicant lives. The Kilbride station covers the rural areas of Burlington, mostly north of No. 2 Sideroad. All applicants must be: • be aged 18 years or older and legally entitled to work in Cana- da; • pass a health and medical evaluation, and fitness assess- ment; • have a permanent residence within six minutes travel time to station no. 5 or live in Burlington within 20 minutes of station no. 1.
