The transportation company opened their doors in Halton Hills earlier this year, after relocating their facilities to the North Halton location. James Drew, director of transportation with QRC, said that it's the largest move that the company has made in their past 40 years of trucking. "Since relocating in the fall, we have al- most doubled our staff to meet the greatly in- creased demands placed on us by key cus- tomers," he said. "Our team has really pulled together to adjust to our scheduled runs from our new operations hub." Both Halton Region chair Gary Carr and Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette are ap- plauding the $9.8-million investment in Pre- mier Gateway. QRC is a logistics company that delivers to retailers across the Greater Toronto Area. Their 289,000-square-foot facility is fully gat- ed, with 28 dock doors and round-the-clock security. "I'm not just delighted that QRC Logistics has chosen Halton Hills for their new loca- tion, but to hear that the site has enabled them to respond positively to growth oppor- tunities is truly gratifying," said Bonnete. "This company exemplifies the advantages for businesses that locate in the Premier Gateway including strategic location, easy access to major transportation networks and proximity to the GTA and U.S. markets." The Town of Halton Hills is planning on adding more employment lands to the Pre- mier Gateway area and are in the midst of studying employment properties in Halton Hills to accommodate growth projections to 2031.
