The first incident took place on April 3, when two males entered Food Basics on Guelph Street, allegedly distracted a female shopper and stole from her purse, police said. Halton police reported that same day, the two males were found to have attended Food Basics locations in Milton and Burling- ton as well, where they allegedly stole other shoppers' purses. Police say credit cards were used shortly after each theft. On April 4 around 1:35 p.m., employees from Georgetown's Food Basics recognized the same two suspects from the day prior, and contacted police. Officers were able to stop the pair on the road around 4:10 p.m. and the men were subsequently arrested. Both have been charged with three counts of theft un- der $5,000. Bogdan Dymiter, 20, of Brampton and a 17-year-old, who cannot be named un- der the Youth Criminal Justice Act, were held pending a bail hearing.
