PETS Sisters - a devoted pair FOXIE...Found wandering the streets of Georgetown Dahlia and Petunia are a stunning pair of calico cats, who are bonded sisters. They were unfortunately sur- rendered to the UCHS Shelter when their owner passed away. They are nine months old, and both are very friendly, playful and love affection. Petunia is a little shy at first and is inclined to be a bit frightened by loud or rambunctious things, but comes out of her shell when she is with sister Dahlia. They are both fine with other cats, calm dogs and older children. Petunia and Dahlia come with 30 days of pre-paid pet health insurance. We are very much hoping to find a home for these beautiful girls where they can stay together. If you think you could offer them a home, please come to meet them at the UCHS Shelter. Call 519-833- 2287 or email info@uppercredit.com to arrange a visit. Foxie was found wandering the streets of Georgetown and was taken to a local veterinarian clinic by a concerned resi- dent, who named her. She has been spayed and her painful broken tooth removed. Now she is able to eat and groom herself comfortably. Foxie is an affectionate young cat, but she finds too much physical attention overwhelming. She prefers gentle touch- ing from people and will let you know when she thinks you're being too forward. She likes things her own way but her dis- pleasure is fleeting. She routinely sleeps on the bed with people and loves to curl up beside them or in an available lap for attention and company. She allows being picked up and held for brief snuggles, then wiggles to get away but never uses her nails. Foxie is becoming more playful as she adjusts to a safe environment indoors. Al- though content in the house, she is still very interested in viewing the outdoors and she should be watched around open doors. Foxie is clean in her litter box and tidy eating and drinking. Trimming her nails was initially an issue - now it is something she accepts. Her silky coat length varies and the longer areas will require mainte- nance to keep them mat free - this will be an easy task as she loves being brushed. Lively cats annoy her but she is toler- ant with young passive males and mature cats. She has met dogs and was not ag- gressive so she may be fine with a quiet dog that respects her space. Foxie will be available for adoption this Saurday at Pet Valu, 375 Mountainview Rd south from 2:00-4:00. The $160 cash adoption fee includes: vaccinations, para- site treatments, spaying, microchip and a bag of food.
