29| The IFP -H alton H ills | T hursday,M ay 24,2018 theifp.ca An observant citizen is getting the credit for the arrests of three young males Monday morning, who Halton police said were caught in the act of stealing items from vehi- cles in an area north of Georgetown Hospital. At around 3 a.m. on May 14, the member of the pub- lic saw the males attempt- ing to enter vehicles and confronted the suspects. They fled, and the citizen called police. Officers in the area re- sponded, and three males were spotted in the back- yards of homes on Atwood Avenue. After a short pur- suit involving the canine unit, the arrests were made. Police said that the sus- pects were also found to be in possession of property stolen from vehicles in the same area on Saturday, May 12. Charged with posses- sion of stolen property, trespass at night, two counts of breach of proba- tion and a breach of under- taking are Jamie Richard Hilts, 18, of Georgetown and two youth under age 18.
