25| The IFP -H alton H ills | T hursday,June 14,2018 theifp.ca Over the next month, the Helson Gal- lery and Sisnett Lobby in downtown Georgetown will be home to a collection of 125 watercolour paintings by artists of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Col- our and the France Watercolor Society. The Sisnett Lobby will house the Cana- dian works, while the Helson Gallery will display the French pieces, as well as one special showcase of historical Canadian watercolour paintings. Following its time in Georgetown, the exhibit, titled Au-delà des mers: Between Friends; Across the Seas: Entre Amis, will move to Avignon, France. The paintings of two local artists, Williams Mills painter Marlene Madole and Brampton artist Mark Rosser, will be travelling along with it. Madole's painting Big Blue III, features a cluster of grapes from her father's or- chard in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. "I'm sending Canadian grapes to a wine district in France," she said. "It's perfect. I couldn't be happier." Mark Rosser's watercolour Rain Lake reflects a view from an Algonquin Park ranger cabin, mid-morning. With this par- ticular work, Rosser says he placed a strong focus on the joy and movement of pigments. As for the painting's French debut, Rosser says he is excited to have been cho- sen for a piece that so thoroughly repre- sents Canada. "What's more Canadian than a scene from Algonquin Park?" he said. Au-delà des mers: Between Friends; Across the Seas: Entre Amis will be on dis- play in Georgetown until July 7.
