Brewers Jeff Sandifer and Mike Glockner developed a passion for brewing in the place the name suggests: their furnace rooms. Here, the friends created their own nano-breweries, producing 10 gallon all-grain batches of beer, using differ- ent recipes and learning as they went along. The idea of opening their own brewery was hindered by nances and business expertise. That's when Mike Dykstra, Trent Chalecky and Steve Leggat joined the conversation to create a team that will launch the craft brewery. The construction is done, equipment is in and the brewing license secured and the Furnace Room Brewery will be open for locally produced craft beer soon. Visit furnaceroombrewery.com to stay up-to-date on progress of when the location at 1 Elgin St. will be open.
