The salon, which offi- cially opened in September, houses three different ar- eas - one for colouring, one for cutting and styling, and one for seating and recep- tion. "We loved that the space was unique," co-owner Sa- rah Gothe-Dias said. "It's different from the typical square or rectangular spac- es. It just feels more homey and warm." Gothe-Dias, along with her sister Leah Mandarino and childhood friend Julie Guest opened the salon last month, each bringing years of experience and hair edu- cation to their new location. "We keep up on all the ed- ucation and we're always learning," Gothe-Dias. "We are passionate about hair." Mandarino says for her, there's nothing like elevat- ing a client's confidence. "I love making people feel great," she said. "Hav- ing somebody who is so un- happy with their hair and then transforming it and seeing how much better they feel about themselves and the smile on their face when we are finished with it, that, I swear, is worth ev- erything to me. I would do it just for that." Guest added that she en- joys the creative freedom and friendships she has formed over the course of her career, and hopes to be able to make many more. "Acton needed some hair love," she laughed. "I love creating and interact- ing with people. Then they become your friends."
