The Halton Climate Col- lective is hosting a dinner discussion on Tuesday eve- ning at the Hillsview Ac- tive Living Centre in Georgetown to talk about environmental challenges in the community. "The team has been put in place to look at our local greenhouse gas emis- sions," said Lisa Kohler, with the Halton Climate Collective. "We're trying to get ahead of the chal- lenge." She says that with over 70 applicants registered, Halton Hills is definitely showing a strong interest in making local changes. There is no set number for greenhouse gas reduc- tion targets on a local level; however, the group hopes to take the community in- put and draw up a theory of change with the help of the Tamarack Institute at the University of Waterloo. There will be a compli- mentary dinner, as well as prizes for those who car- pool to the event or bring a reusable cup. To register, visit the Eventbrite page; residents can also register for char- rette sessions in Oakville, Milton or Burlington.
