Shortly before 11 p.m. Dec. 8, three sus- pects entered the Hasty Market at 136 Guelph St., confronted the clerk and de- manded cash and cigarettes. One of the suspects was armed with a long gun, and a second suspect had a smaller gun. The suspects stole a quantity of cash and cigarettes before leaving the store; no vehicle was seen. No one was injured during the robbery. The suspects are described as black males between the ages of 19 and 25, with thin builds. They wore black masks, black jackets, hooded sweatshirts and gloves. Halton regional police say officers received multiple calls about the coils early in the morning on Dec. 13, the first one coming in at 2:50 a.m. Police arrived to the scene and re- moved the metal coils from the roadway. One vehicle was damaged as a result of the impediments, but there were no injuries re- ported in connection with the incident, Det. Derek Moyes said. Two males were arrested separately be- tween 4:30 and 5 a.m. They have both been charged with theft, mischief and trespassing. The identity of one of the people charged, aged 17, is protected under the Youth Criminal Jus- tice Act. Moyes says police are not releasing the name of the second suspect, who turned 18 recently.
