Are you the right person for Remi? Remi is a young Fila Brasileiro/Mix, only 9 or 10 months old and still very much a puppy. He is a big strong boy with lots of energy and personality. He loves attention and affection, and will focus on what you are asking of him to please you. He has not had much training, but really wants to learn and to engage with you. Remi is a "diamond in the rough", who will do well with someonewhowill patiently and calmly put in the time to train him. Due to his energy level, a home with young children is not recommended. He will need a solid fenced yard, good exercise and a training plan. If you think you might be the right person for Remi, please come to meet him at the shelter… it could be a great match for both of you! By the end of 2018, we had found homes 563 cats, dogs and small animals. Our thanks to all the volunteers and donors, and the kind hearts of those who come to adopt. Remi Shaq Shaq is a relaxed and sensitive boy, about three years old. He is a confirmed lap cat who loves to snuggle and receive attention, especially chin scratches. Shaq enjoys being picked up and purrs happily, especially if he is taken to a window with a new view. He enjoys the comforts of living indoors and is content to remain a house cat. For almost a year, Shaq was observed as a stray in a neighbourhood where he was either pursued or chased away. His outdoor experiences have made him hesitant meeting new people, so he chooses to hide until he can determine it is safe to come out. If company stay long enough he will come out to make new friends. Shaq has a low energy level with occasional episodes of chasing a ball or soft toy. He has no aggression towards other cats and enjoys cautiously observing them before interacting. For medical reasons, Shaq had a full dental extraction which does not deter him from consuming dry food. He does enjoy canned food with water to keep him regular - because has no tail and this can be an issue for some Manx cats. Shaq is a clean boy with both his food area and his litter box. Shaq has FIV (which is not a concern for him spreading it - as he has no teeth and is neutered) but he should have a quiet and as stress free life as possible. He has been a healthy cat since being in NHKR foster care. Shaq has been through a lot and is still a big teddy bear type cat. He would enjoy a quieter home with patient experienced cat people. Shaq will be available for adoption this Sat. at Pet Valu, 375 Mountainview Rd. S. from 2-4. The $160 cash adoption fee includes: vaccinations, parasite treatments, spaying, microchip and a bag of food.
