The Georgetown Lions Club made local residents' Easter weekends a bit more hoppy with their latest ran- dom act of kindness. On April 18, members of the club spent the evening at FreshCo in Georgetown handing out gift certifi- cates to local families to help pay for their Easter feasts. In total, the club helped 22 families, with FreshCo providing two of the gift certificates. This marks the fifth act of kindness in the club's six-month campaign to spread joy in the communi- ty. "This was a very person- al way to connect with local residents," said Lion Jack Ruck. "The Georgetown Lions Club is proud to serve the community." During the Christmas season, the Lions provided gift cards to Links2Care to help families in need. In January, members handed out Happy Meal coupons to families dining out on a Saturday at McDonald's in Georgetown. In February, the club was at the George- town Hospital paying for patients' parking, and last month members helped cover the tab during the breakfast rush at Ares Res- taurant. "The purpose of this program is to touch resi- dents in a positive manner, and we hope those people who receive an act of kind- ness will pay it forward," said Lions President Vijay Kapila.
