The local store was operated by Bill and Valerie Manes (third and fourth from left) for over two decades. They took over in downtown Acton in 1996 and built a new store on Queen Street in 1999. Acton Home Hardware remains in the Manes family, with Bill and Valerie's children, Brett and Terresa, along with their spouses Jessica and Chris, taking the reins last year.
