Hein Litigation Lawyer Proud member of B2C Halton Hills OFFICE LOCATIONS GEORGETOWN 8 Guelph Street 905 452 7400 BRAmPTON OFFICE (main) 350 Rutherford Road S., Suite 320 905 452 7400 CALEDON EAST 15955 Airport Road, Suite 201 905 584 4545 Separation is a significant event, emotionally and financially. It is a really good idea to be prepared if you can be. Here are a few points that may be of assistance: 1. Contact a family lawyer to find out in advance your rights and obligations. (We offer a free consultation for that.) 2. Get your emotional supports in order, whether friends or family or others you rely upon. 3. Besides a lawyer, seek out advice from your other professional supports, including your accountant, banker and/or financial advisor. 4. Track down all of your financial documentation relating to your income, assets and liabilities, insurance, even daily costs. 5. Find your will and power(s) of attorney if you have those. 6. Try to have an overall plan in place, which plan may be made with the help of the items above. Lockyer + Hein LLP is a full service law firm that does a lot of family law. We are happy to meet you for a free consultation at one of our three offices, including 8 Guelph Street, Georgetown, in the Lounsbury Life & Group Insurance Benefits building. Have a great weekend. There's no shortage of spooky activities this weekend as Halton Hills residents gear up to cele- brate Halloween. Local children can try out their costumes while getting a head start on trick-or-treating, in both the Acton and Georgetown downtown cores, on Satur- day, Oct. 26. The Downtown George- town BIA will host its an- nual Masquerade on Main, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Main and Mill streets. Par- ticipating businesses will be handing out candy, snacks, toys, comic books and many more treats. The free event will also feature street entertainers sponsored by Paul Arm- strong Insurance Brokers Inc., dance performances by Center Stage School of the Arts, pumpkin give- aways and more. Meanwhile, the Down- town Acton BIA will run its Trick or Treat event on Mill and Main from noon to 2 p.m. Costumed young- sters are invited to visit and receive sweets from store owners. There'll also be haunted houses, free music and activity sta- tions. Those who'd like to get dressed up for a good cause can head over to Isaac's Trek for Treats, a family- friendly costume trail run to raise money for Du- chenne muscular dystro- phy research. The Acton-based event on Oct. 26 will take partici- pants on the path through the Tanners Drive woodlot on either a one- or two-kilo- metre run. There'll also be Isaac's Trek, a special 100- metre distance open to all ages and abilities. The entry fee is $10 for the first child and $5 for each additional child in the family. A silent auction, indoor children's activities and music kick off at 10 a.m., followed by Isaac's Trek at 10:25 a.m. and the full race at 10:30 a.m. The event's namesake is Isaac van Asseldonk, a six- year-old Acton boy who's been diagnosed with Du- chenne muscular dystro- phy.
