But it wasn't until the new X-ray equipment arrived at the hospital that they had seen it all so clearly. "Our new X-ray equipment provides much better, clearer images, " says Lesia, "And, just as importantly, it actually exposes our patients to less radiation as well." This new X-ray equipment is vital in meeting the increased demand for diagnostic imaging at Georgetown Hospital due to both an increasing number of specialty doctors, as well as the continuous growth of our community. "Improving the diagnostic imaging equipment at the hospital reduces both processing and patient wait times," says Andrea, "Which means our patients get treated faster-- and that means a lot when you're not well, injured, or waiting for a specialty procedure." But this new equipment does more than provide clearer, faster imaging. It is also moves itself. This automated equipment no longer requires the X-ray technologists to push, pull andmanually roll the cumbersome and heavy equipment into position. "You just push a button, and it moves itself!", says Andrea. "It saves a lot of sore shoulders and backs on our team." The new equipment also has higher weight limits, which means that even bariatric patients can receive comfortable, high quality diagnostic imaging. "I just had a patient," recalls Lesia, "that I would not have been able to work with as easily using our old X-ray equipment." "Plus, the brighter X-ray room and new equipment creates a positive experience for both the patients and the X-ray technologists. We're all so excited about the new equipment that I think it gets our patients excited, too." laughs Lesia. "We are very grateful to our donors," both Andrea and Lesia keep saying. "This hospital was built on the generosity of our community. They're always ready to step up when we need them." The installation of this new digital imaging equipment and technology at Georgetown Hospital marks another milestone in continuously improving the quality of healthcare available here in our local community, and we couldn't have done it without you. 2017 2018 Sept 2019 Dec 2019 1 Portable X-Ray Unit Precise digital imaging technology expedites diagnosis and improves the quality of care 1 Portable X-Ray Unit Mini C ArmUnit Digital X-Ray Units Today, diagnosis is an exact science that relies on diagnostic imaging technology to provide precise pictures of what is happening inside your body. Immediate access to high quality images allows physicians to rule out conditions such as pneumonia or heart failure, and to identify what is causing symptoms so that you can get fast access to themost appropriate care.{patient/physician story / testimonial from ribbon cutting - brief} From L to R: Andrea Taylor, CindyMcDonell, Sandra Taylor, Lesia Briston, and Edith McDonell
