I could not believe this precious gift was mine. He was my light in a very dark world. His huge eyes reflected a pureness and innocence that made me heart melt. By age nine, Pete's highly developed verbal, comprehensive and creative skills transversed an acute intelligence, depth and passion. From very early in his childhood, one could sense the uniqueness that was Pete. He played soccer (badly), he played football (badly), he played hockey (terribly) and he bowled (badly)! As a young adult, he loved to watch football, WWE wrestling and anything Star Wars. He had a secret crush on Britney Spears and Posh Spice. He LOVED the Muppets, particularly Kermit the Frog and he did an amazing imitation of Victor Newman from Young & the Restless (but I wasn't allowed to tell anyone that he watched that soap opera). He was weird, whacky and a little off the wall (like his mom). We continue to lose our children to opioid overdose at an unprecedented rate. We miss you badly Pete.
