- Description
- A cobweb encrusted tongue for a horse-drawn vehicle hangs from
the rafters inside the barn at 9468 4th Line owned by Jim Archdekin. The metal connectors at the bottom of the photo are hitched to the front axle with pins and the tongue (which you can only see part of) runs up between the two horses in the team. The tongue would be 8-10 feet long, depending on the size of the horses in the team. This barn was photographed in preparation for a sketch (see EHS25991) by artist Keith Strike (1931-1997) on a visit to Georgetown. - Date of Publication
