Mountainview Residence Of Georgetown It's almost time for Georgetown's Coldest Night of the Year -- a major fundraiser for the local food bank. Here are five things you need to know about this family-friendly walk for a good cause: 1. The Feb. 22 event starts at the Hillsview Active Liv- ing Centre, 318 Guelph St.; registration opens at 4 p.m. and the walk kicks off at 5:15 p.m. 2. The goal is to raise $25,000 for the Georgetown Bread Basket, which pro- vides food and other assis- tance to about 180 local families in need, many of which include children. 3. Participants have the option of walking two, five or 10 kilometres to raise money for the local cause. Children are welcome to participate as well. 4. Local residents who are unable to do the walk can also fill a variety of volun- teer positions during the event. Sign up at cnoy.org/ volunteer. 5. You can register online to walk and fundraise up until the event at cnoy.org/ register. Further details on the Georgetown Coldest Night of the Year can be found at cnoy.org/loca- tion/georgetown.
