This policy may change without notice. www.leathertownlumber.ca A Mississauga man has been sentenced to 18 months in custody, among other conditions, as the re- sult of a fatal street racing incident in 2017. Mark Abd El Malek, of Mississauga, was the driv- er of a vehicle involved in a single vehicle collision on Dec. 9, 2017. The driver is alleged to have lost con- trol of the vehicle and struck several light poles before slamming into a tree. Despite all occupants wearing their seatbelts, the collision caused the death of 18-year-old Danial Waseem. Abd El Malek was charged with danger- ous driving causing death. On June 1, 2020, Abd El Malek was sentenced to: • 18 months in custody • Three years probation upon release from custody • Five years of driving prohibition • A secondary DNA or- der.
