An iconic property in Norval is on the market. The former Nashville North night- club on Guelph Street is listed for $3.9 million. This includes three structures on the six-acre-plus parcel -- the main nightclub that closed last year, an an- nex with an indoor pool and a detached garage. Here's what the Town of Hal- ton Hills says could occupy the well- known property on the Credit River. JUST THE FACTS: • The Nashville North lands are currently zoned "hamlet commercial," which permits a variety of commercial and residential uses. • These uses could include: a spe- cialty food store, animal clinic, art gal- lery, business offices, custom work- shop, museum, restaurant, retail store, commercial services, service shop and studios. • The property falls within the floodplain for the Credit River, and sites within floodplains are considered hazardous land under Credit Valley Conservation regulations. • "The hazardous land classifica- tion places significant limitations on any future use for the property, and CVC has confirmed they would not support the site to be redeveloped for any residential purposes," said Town Development Review Director Jeff Markowiak. • The property is also listed in the Town's Heritage Register. According to the register, the former Nashville North was built in 1961 and officially opened Jan 1, 1962 as the Riviera Club, an entertainment and leisure venue known throughout Ontario during the 1960s.
