Text or call. 905-867-3280 While the community won't be able to gather and celebrate the annual launch of Light up the Hills, organizers say the show will go on for the holiday season. Plans are already in the works for the 13th annual festive displays in George- town, Acton and Glen Williams, where the Christmas lights will shine from Decem- ber 1 to January 3. Traditional opening ceremonies -- which usually bring together hundreds to watch the lights come on for the first time while enjoying treats and other festivities -- are cancelled this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. Committee volunteers remind local res- idents that Dominion Gardens Park will be open throughout the holiday season for families to walk through and enjoy the ex- tensive displays. There will also be three special memory trees covered in white lights, where people can stop to reflect and remember their loved ones. Memory balls will be available for purchase or renewal. The Light up the Hills team is currently seeking volunteers to help with fundrais- ing efforts. Those interested should call 905-877-6710 or email info@lightupthe- hills.com. Tickets for the annual fundraising draw will go on sale mid-September. For further details or to make a dona- tion visit lightupthehills.com.
