Here's everything you need to know about the shoe strikes that will take place on Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: 1. A shoe strike is an event where dozens, hundreds or thousands of shoes are lined up together in a large group to represent people at a rally, signifying a message of unity calling for climate ac- tion. 2. The climate action team will be doing this on the front lawn at St George's Anglican Church, 60 Guelph St. in Georgetown, and at the Acton Arena and Community Centre, 415 Queen St. E. 3. Those who'd like to participate can drop off their shoes with their name tucked inside by 11 a.m., then pick them up after 1 p.m. For those who can't come September 25, there will be drop boxes Sept. 23 and 24 on the porch at 12 King St. in Georgetown, and at the Acton Library, 17 River St., which is open 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. those days. 4. "Bring along shoes to represent your whole family, your friends, your neighbours," said organizer Janet Duval. "European groups who've already held shoe strikes posted dramatic pictures of thousands of shoes filling their city squares. We hope that will happen here too." 5.
