LEST WE FORGETRemembrance Day In the fall of 2019, the Dutch royal family marked the 2020 celebration of the 75th an- niversary of the liberation of their country by thanking Canadians with a gift of 100,000 tu- lip bulbs - branded Liberation75 - to plant in the fall for spring blossoms in 2020. The gift of 100,000 tulip bulbs was matched by the National Capital Commis- sion in Ottawa, where most of the bulbs were planted in the fall of 2019. More than 1,000 schools across Canada received Liberation75 tulips to plant around their school buildings. In the spring of 2020 the blossoms served as a reminder of the sacri ce made by Canadi- ans 75 years ago. Each province's lieutenant governor was given 750 tulips to plant in provincial capitals, creating another tribute to the impact of Ca- nadian soldiers on the liberation of the Neth- erlands. Canadians were encouraged to plant Liberation75 tulips that were sold in packag- es of 15 for $15 with $1 of that purchase price going to the Royal Canadian Legion, which represents more than 200,000 Canadians The legacy continues with Liberation75 tulips PLANTING CAMPAIGN FEATURES 1.1 MILLION TULIPS HONOURING 1.1 MILLION CANADIANS th ei fp .c a Th e IF P -H al to n H ill s | T hu rs da y, N ov em be r 5, 20 20 | 14 Brakes, Front End Alignment, ABS, Engine Diagnostics, Auto Sales, Front End Specialists, Used Cars Norm & Floyd Foster Owners/Operators 45 Main Street North, Acton | Tel. 519-853-4144 Norm & Floyd Foster Lest We Forget YOUR COUNTRY GROCERY STORE & HOME OF THE FRESH BAKED PIES • Bakeshop • Butcher shop • Fruits & Veggies • Pure Honey • Maple Syrup • Gourmet Products • Fudge • Preserves • Cider • Apple Butter Ready to Serve Chicken/Ribs/Salads/Sandwiches Corner of Bovaird Drive & Mississauga Rd, Brampton www.applefactory.com | 905-846-3715 COUNTRY CRAFTS AND MUCH MOREWe Look Forward to Serving You OPEN YEAR ROUND 7 days a week !
