"I had customers from here coming to Guelph to pick up food, so they're ex- cited." Flame Kitchen's menu features a mix of home- made Mediterranean and Canadian dishes, with Ar- ulanandam saying he's known for his chicken, lamb and beef souvlakis. The new restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, and also for a takeout-style break- fast on weekends. Arulanandam is no stranger to the kitchen, having grown up cooking with family and working in the food industry for al- most 30 years. As many restaurants close their doors due to the pandemic, Arulanandam acknowledges there are challenges to opening an eatery in a COVID-19 era. "Yes it's tough times, but I know my food," he said.
