The Town of Halton Hills will roll out an afford- able housing engagement and awareness strategy to facilitate affordable and accessible housing in Hal- ton Hills. "Creating a vibrant community that is afford- able for all is an essential part of the Town's Strate- gic Plan," Mayor Rick Bon- nette said in a prepared re- lease. "Council's goal is to collaborate with residents and stakeholders to identi- fy and deliver affordable housing solutions while building a forward-think- ing and innovative model for new community devel- opment." The town will roll out an eight-month communi- cations plan to support the engagement strategy. Part of the town's strat- egy will include an online forum on Let's Talk Halton Hills to foster a two-way di- alogue and gather prelimi- nary input on what afford- able housing means to the community. "Partnership with resi- dents, stakeholders and all levels of government is critical to the success of any future housing initia- tives in Halton Hills," said Coun. Jon Hurst, Afford- able Housing Working Group chair. "We're pleased to see the Working Group's recommendations put into action and look forward to receiving com- munity input through the process."
