The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is now accepting registrations for junior and senior kindergarten for Sept. 2021. Parents are asked to register their child by Feb. 5. Registration will be by appointment only -- in-person and/or virtual -- and families are asked to contact their local elementary school to find out which dates have been scheduled. You can determine your home school or find a registration form at www.hdsb.ca. If you hold a work permit and are registering your child for the first time with HDSB, if either the parent or child has a study permit/visa, or if the par- ent is a permanent resident applicant on visitor status, families should con- tact the HDSB Welcome Centre. When registering, you should have the following original documents: Proof of address; proof of age; proof of citizenship and if you are not the child's parent, or if you have sole custo- dy, bring proof of custody (court order). To register to begin school in this fall, junior kindergarten (Year 1) chil- dren must be four years old by Dec. 31, 2021, and senior kindergarten (Year 2) children must be five years old by Dec. 31, 2021. To learn more about HDSB's kinder- garten program, visit the HDSB website. At www.kindergarten.hdsb.ca, fu- ture students can explore a kindergar- ten classroom to see what their class- room will look like. There are videos to watch, pictures to view and activities.
