Last week Effie Triantafilopou- lous, a Halton-area MPP and par- liamentary assistant to the minis- ter of long-term care, announced the Ontario government would make a $933-million investment across 80 long-term care facilities. In Georgetown, the Bennett Centre Long Term Care at Bennett Village will receive 94 new spaces,Village will receive 94 new spaces,V as well as 66 redeveloped spaces. Overall, Halton Region will see 1,565 new spaces and 291 redevel- oped spaces for seniors. "Residents in long-term care deserve a home that is safe and comfortable, close to their fami- lies and friends," Triantafilopou- los said in a prepared release. "Families want to know that their loved ones will receive the sup- ports they need in long-term care."
