She was the devoted wife of the late Ron, dear little sister of Claire, and loving mother of Chris (Janette), Mary (Bill Pires), Tommy (Valerie), Becky (Denis Cyr), Eva (Tom Allen) and Annie (Malcolm Peralty). Beloved GramEGael of Joshua, Jordan, Jason, Mia, Reuben, Allison, Natasha, Hannah, Stephanie, Jillian, Nathan, Lara, Zaryah, and the late Virginia, Lily, and Anika. Great GramEGael of Kaiden, Westley, and more grand- children on the way. Gael will be remembered for her beautiful spirit and glorious singing voice; she was a member of the Georgetown Choral Society, Holy Cross Mass and Funeral Choirs, and she and Ron were the music ministry at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Melancthon. Ron and Gael met while singing in their Teacher's College Choir; it was love at first note. Gael left her teaching career to focus on her family; being a mom was her priority. She raised her 6 kids, born across 3 different decades, all who had a slightly different parent relationship with her. She always rose to the challenge even when that meant balancing being a grand- mother, devoted wife to a terminally ill husband, and suddenly being a single parent in her 50s to a teenager and young child. Family was the centre of Gael's life and family was anyone who came through her door. She was always there with sage advice, a listening ear, and a compassionate embrace. Gael could hold a convers- ation with anyone. She believed that everyone has a story to tell, you just have to ask the right question and listen. She saw the dignity in everyone and she always wanted us to understand the other side of the story. Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Friday May 21, 2021. A private family interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown. A funeral Mass for Gael will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Church when it becomes safer to gather in large numbers. Thank you to all of the staff at Extendicare Halton Hills for caring for Gael. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, please call the funeral home at 905-877-3631 to register for visitation on Friday.
