IB LETTERS TO THE EDITOR GENEROUS SPIRIT ALIVE AND WELL IN TOWN On Feb.1, thesecond day of restrictions being ined, three friends and ranged to meet for ann at Symposium in Geor; town. Though we only meet two or three times a year, these are always fun times, with lots of laughter, and this time was no exception. Added to the usual bi ter, there were Christmas gifts to be had, and some ot of these caused a lot ofamuse- ment. In the restaurant at the same time was a young man at the bar. He com- mented on how great it was to see people out laughing enjoying themselves — something which has been issing | in our is long time due . Adged to ‘which there were other health issues we had been dealing with, which had caused some anxiety. As the evening drew toa close, I asked the waitress for our bill, and was told it had been paid. We were stunned, and for the first time that eve- ning we were speechless. The young man, whom be- lieve had only come in fora couple of beers, had paid for all four dinners and drinks, which must have amounted to a consider- able st In these times, when most of the news appears to be bad, it is wonderful to know that there is such Kindness and generosity right here in Georgetown among strangers.
