The Halton Regional Police Service is advising residents they have observed an increase in catalytic converter thefts from. vehicles. The trend is being observed across North America however in Halton there has beena of thefts in Milton and Halton Hills. A total of 29 catalytic converters have been report- ed stolen from March 1 to April12in Milton and Halton Hills. Catalytic converters have _brecious metals inside them that them occur overnight. Police say thieves targeting vehicles parked in quiet in- dustrial lots and large apartment build- ings. It can take a thief as little as 60 sec- onds to remove a vehicle's catalytic con- verter.
